Mazda CX-5 with Smart City Brake Support Has Your Back

The Mazda CX-5 has been generating quite a lot of buzz lately, and for good reason. One of the features everyone is talking about is the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS).
There has been a lot of talk about cars driving themselves and this is one step towards that direction. The way it works is if the system senses an unexpected object or a stopped vehicle in the road it will pre-charge the brake calipers which really just means the car will stop more quickly if needed. The system uses a laser sensor to detect potentially road obstructing objects.
While the SCBS technology doesn't replace attentive driving, its just one more thing that helps make the Mazda CX-5 safer for drivers, passengers and other vehicles on the road.
As a complimentary technology to Smart City Brake Support, Mazda will offer acceleration control for automatic transmission on models in Japan. This system also uses the SCBS laser sensor but employs it to prevent unintended acceleration and emits an audible alert.
